Overview

Here are some noted voluntary activities I have participated during my academic life. I always believe that engaging in such voluntary activities offers invaluable, multifaceted benefits beyond the classroom. The engagement leads me to foster robust network, effective communication, intercultural skills, personal growth, leadership, and practical experience relevant to future opportunities and careers

My Community Engagement 💪🏻

Highlights of volunteer work, events, and fun moments that showcase my interests, collaboration, and contributions outside professional projects.

Chula Hugs Nan Volunteering Program (2019)

Activity Overview

Experiencing the cultures and social issues of Nan province, including poverty and water shortage, motivated me to provide long-term solutions that aimed to improve the community's living conditions. Through this initiative, I honed my skills in analysing, researching, negotiating, and immediate problem-solving, preparing me for potential roles as an organiser and speaker addressing these critical issues.

CU Interact 2019 By Chulalongkorn International Affairs (2019)

Activity Overview

As I engaged in introducing Thai cultures to international exchange students and provided guidance on their educational plans, I found myself immersed in an understanding of diverse perspectives across cultural boundaries.

In this activity, each Thai student needed to pair up with another exchange student from overseas and did activities together from introducing language and cultures through games to leading a field trip. My partner is Yuka who was an exchange student from Japan, and it was astonishing that she also studied the same academic field as mine, therefore I had an opportunity to guide her through university courses. After the activity ended, I realised I sharpened coordinating performance skills, orchestrating presentations that were not only informative but also engaging and memorable, which became a rich learning experience, emphasising the importance of adaptability, intercultural communication, and cross-cultural education.

Asean Cultural Workshop 2018 at Chulalongkorn University (2018)

Activity Overview

Engaging in introducing Thai culture to Malaysian exchange students was a vibrant exchange of traditions and customs, fostering a deeper understanding of cultural diversity. Through interactive sessions encompassing Thai cuisine, local cultures, traditional practices, and language basics, the experience was an exploration of Thailand's heritage for me as well.

In this workshop, I had a chance to teach Thai language, and how to fold Thai handwoven Ta-Pien fish which is a Thai local home decoration to Malaysian students. This cultural workshop not only bridged the cultural gaps but also created mutual appreciation and respect between our cultures.

12th CU Intergames (2017)

Activity Overview

In this activity, I was a part of core team positioning for artwork and photography which I had to create artwork, performance settings, and provide support for any kinds of photography and videos.

This CU Intergames is an annual event for freshmen across Chulalongkorn international faculties and its exchange students to not only introduce or promote the strength and uniqueness of the faculties, but strengthen a bond within each of them. The event usually holds sports competitions and various performances by each faculty, which this year, Faculty of Arts won the competition and received the ‘Best Show’ for a performance contest. It was wholeheartedly amazing that Faculty of Arts won the competition for 5 consecutive years.

CU Welcoming Ceremony: Rub-Nong Kao Mai (รับน้องก้าวใหม่)

Activity Overview

This 3-day welcoming ceremony or ‘Rub-Nong’ aimed to gather university students of each faculty to have a group activity including the freshmen, senior, and alumni in order to foster a bond among them.

For Chulalongkorn’s Rub-Nong, students who participated in the event would be sorted into a ‘House’ or ‘Baan’ divided to 4 sizes: S, M, L, XL. My house was ‘Baan Indy’, an XL size house consisting of approximately 400 people. I was a part of a recreational team who needed to create a collaborative singing and dancing performance to entertain and invite freshmen to join the fun together. This event, from my perspective, cultivates a strong sense of community and respect for hierarchy, also nurtures a supportive environment and connection. It is one of the most memorable event during my university experience as it was the first event I participated outside Faculty of Arts, and got to meet, work, and share sweat and tears with hundreds of new people across faculties.
